One thing I must tell you is that sometimes to become successful to achieving our goals, we don’t need to add more things to our life? Yes! We just need to give up on some of the things we do in other to achieve this success.

There are many things that are well known to be the cause of failure and when we give up on all those things, it will lead to a greater success. Giving up on some of them today is a nice decision to make, although it might take time to give up on all of them.

Here are 10 things you should give up if you want to be successful.

1) You need to give up on short-term mindset:

Short term mindset means setting a short term goal. We should not do that rather set a daily target to achieve a long term goal. That’s exactly what successful people do. Setting up a long term with daily target will help you maintain a positive mindset and a hope for greater success.

2) You need to give up on fear of failure:

We all know that to achieve a greater success, there must be failure on the way. Being afraid of this failure will make your dream not to come true. If you stop being afraid to fail and embrace failure as it is a stepping stone to success, You will achieve your goal.

3) You need to give up on your excuses:

To be successful, we don’t have to give excuses to why we didn’t do what we are supposed to do. You need to realize that you are responsible for what happen next in your life because by doing so, you are now close to being successful.

Don’t allow excuses limit and prevent you from growing personally and professionally.

4) You need to give up believing in overnight success:

I must tell you, overnight success is a myth. Successful people focus on improving 1% everyday knowing that making small continuous improvement everyday will be compounded over time and give a desired result. That’s exactly what you should be doing.

5) You need to give up on multi-tasking:

Multi-tasking will slow down your success. Why? When you focus on achieving many things at once it will not allow you to go in-depth in each of them to actually find the secret to succeed in each of them. This will lead to frustration and you will eventually give up.

Successful people already know this secret that’s why they choose one thing and then beat it into submission. No matter what it is – a business idea, a conversation or a workout or any other thing leading to success.

6) You need to give up your need to control everything:

You need to Detach from the things you cannot control, and focus on the ones you can, and know that sometimes, the only thing you will see yourself being able to  control is your attitude towards something. 

7) You need to learn how to say NO to things that doesn’t support your goals:

To achieve your goals and be successful, you need to say NO to certain tasks, activities and demands from friends, family and colleagues. You just have to sacrifices of instant gratification, and when you achieve your goals, it will all be worth it.  


8) You need to give up on bad people:

The people we spend most time with, add up to who we become. Take a look around you and see if you need to make any changes because to be successful, you need to be with people who know better than you and are willing to help you achieve your goals.

9) You need to give up on your need to be liked:

 Think of yourself as a market niche.

There will be a lot of people who like that niche, and there will be individuals who don't. And no matter what you do, you won't be able to make the entire market like you. This is entirely natural, and there's no need to justify yourself.

The only thing you can do is remain authentic, improve and provide value every day, and know that the growing number of "haters" means that you are doing important things.

10) You need to give up on unhealthy lifestyle:

To be successful, you need to take care of your health. You can only work when you are healthy so always eat healthy diet and engage in physical activities (exercise) to keep you healthy and always ready to work.
